For the new Statue of Liberty Museum the design team at FXCollaborative upheld tradition and chose Stony Creek granite for the open public space, as it had been used for the base of the Statue of Liberty more than a century ago
Considered to be the most monumental addition to Liberty Island since the Statue herself, the new Statue of Liberty Museum opened to the public on May 16, 2019. The museum was built with three components – accessibility, education and sustainability – in mind.
As I write this, I’m sitting at Newark International Airport in New Jersey waiting for my flight to Indianapolis to board. My final destination is Bloomington, where my friends from the Indiana Limestone Institute will take me on a tour of several quarries in the area.

For those living in Chattanooga, TN, or the surrounding area, November 21, 2016 will always be remembered as a tragic day. The date marks a horrific bus accident that involved 37 students from the Woodmore Elementary School, which took the lives of six of the children.

Located in in the State of Ceará, the northeastern part of Brazil, the material consists of white and gray tones with a smooth movement.
