The Poseidon Experience: Uniting and Educating Industry Members

A poolside Happy Hour provided a more relaxed environment for attendees to socialize and share experiences.

The Poseidon Experience was held at the Sunseeker Resort Florida Gulf Coast, Curio Collection by Hilton in Port Charlotte, FL, from May 26 to 28, 2026.
Members of the stone and fabrication industry came together for several days of education, networking and fun at the Sunseeker Resort Florida Gulf Coast, Curio Collection by Hilton in Port Charlotte, FL, from May 26 to 28, 2026. The event was The Poseidon Experience, which was designed to bring together high-performing fabricators, business owners and industry partners for a powerful mix of real-world learning, motivational discussion, high-level networking and unforgettable experiences.
“It was honestly better than I expected it could ever go,” said Poseidon CEO and Founder Joe Alva. “It was a nice experience that was more intimate, because everybody just showed up and was hanging out.”
Alva explained that the idea for The Poseidon Experience surfaced about six years ago. “Instead of spending money at a trade show, I wanted to invest in the people who believed in me,” he said. “We are not doing this to sell machines.”
In addition to fabricators, the conference hosted sponsors of tooling and machinery companies, as well as those offering shop software, business management programs and AI services. Representatives from all the industry associations, including the International Surface Fabricators Association (ISFA), the Natural Stone Institute, the Rockheads and the Stone Fabricator’s Alliance (SFA), were in attendance.
Alva was pleased with the well-rounded turnout. “We can help each other because we have a lot of different experiences.”
Throughout the conference, each sponsor had the opportunity to take the stage and talk briefly on their products/services and share nuggets of information that would benefit the industry professionals in the room. Moreover, Alva lined up several headline speakers.
René Rodriguez opened the first full day of the conference with “Amplify Your Influence - A Neuroscience-Based Framework to Amplify Your Impact.” Rodriguez shared knowledge on how to unlock the power of neuroscience to enhance leadership skills. He helped attendees to discover a transformative framework that leverages brain-based principles to captivate and influence any audience.
At the opening of the closing dinner, Forrest Griffin, one of the most recognizable champions in MMA history, shared stories from inside the Octagon — and the hard-earned lessons on perseverance, leadership and pushing beyond limits that apply far beyond the world of fighting.
As the star of the legendary fight that changed the future of the UFC forever, Forrest knows what it takes to overcome adversity, embrace pressure and rise when everything is on the line.
During the closing reception Paul Hutchinson, executive producer of Sound of Freedom and founder of the Child Liberation Foundation, shared many stories of when he went undercover in 15 countries to rescue trafficked children. He pulled on the audience’s heart strings with tragic events he witnessed and was involved in. He also spoke about how each person can make a difference in this fight. “Our children are not for sale,” said Hutchinson. “And when enough of us stand together, no darkness can survive the light."
Alva addressed attendees several times during The Poseidon Experience. He explained the advanced technology of the company’s Hybrid Cycle and how it can increase speed, accuracy and efficiency in a shop. He also gave a presentation discussing his experience as a salesperson and gave tips for success.
