On February 8, 1988, Gerry Waletzko began his career at Park Industries® in Computer Drafting. Gerry designed, serviced, and installed many Park machines over the years. Among Gerry’s many great accomplishments at Park Industries® includes designing the PRO-EDGE® machine which Park Industries® continues to sell today.
A group of 37 US and European based companies in the stone equipment and supply industry have formed The Stone Equipment and Supply Alliance with the purpose of communicating a unified voice regarding industry events and tradeshows. A board of directors has been formed and is composed of the following industry leaders:
Continuing the trend of strengthening West Coast coverage and customer service with several new sales associates and a new fulfillment center, BB Industries has added stone industry veteran Emilio Perez to the team. Perez will service customers in Northern California, up to the Sacramento market. He has been in the industry for decades, working for GranQuartz and Hard Rock Stone Works, and most recently with Columbia Stone Products.
Once again, BB Industries expands its sales force to keep up with its unprecedented growth. “We are in exciting times at BBI, with three new people joining our family this month,” commented Jeff Dykstra, VP of Marketing. “We are adding field sales associates to support our guaranteed commitment to assure customer delight.”
In the early 1980’s, Joe Lauer was the manager of the local Perkins in St. Cloud, Minnesota. The same restaurant that Tom and Joyce Schlough took the family to every Sunday. Tom, the President of Park Industries® at the time, saw something in Joe that stuck with him. Joe truly cared about his customers. Based solely on this, Tom offered Joe a job. Tom could teach Joe the stone industry…he couldn’t teach Joe the passion for true customer care.
BB Industries has hired stone industry veteran Ben Donley to be its Ohio sales consultant. Based in Cincinnati, Donley has more than 15 years of fabrication experience, from templating to running a shop. Most recently, he was shop foreman at GQW in Kentucky. He will cover Cincinnati, Indianapolis and Columbus for BB Industries.
Based on significant enhancements to its automated tooling product offering and additional employees, BB Industries is releasing a dedicated 2021 automated tooling catalog. The catalog, to be released in fall 2020, includes new vendors Apexx, Flexijet and Coldspring, joining valued partner vendors BVC, Diamut, and IMS. New products include tooling for 5-axis saws, CNC routers, and inline polishers.
The all new Side-Shot by Park Industries provides fabricators the tool to capture slab images right at the machine with an extremely small footprint requirement. The SIDE-SHOT™ incorporates Slabsmith Lite software for vein matching and 3D rendering.
