Due to the unfortunate circumstances of the COVID-19 worldwide pandemic, Coverings 2020 was not able to be held in New Orleans, LA, this spring. The following is a sampling of the latest product introductions.
In the last issue of Contemporary Stone & Tile Design, I mentioned how we were heading into “trade show” season. Unfortunately, that was short lived this year due to the unforeseen worldwide pandemic that slowly crept in and then ignited into a state of emergency that no one could have predicted.
In 2014, an excited group of women met at a gathering during Coverings, which was sponsored by Polycor, to officially launch Women in Stone (WIS). “Women in Stone’s mission is to recruit, retain and advance women in the natural stone industry,” says Sarah B Gregg, Women in Stone administrator.

GK Naquin of Stone Interiors led an engaging morning presentation at the Tampa Stone Summit on October 10, 2019. The day-long event was one of 10 Stone Industry Education sessions organized by Stone World and the Natural Stone Institute across the U.S. This particular one was sponsored by MSI and drew 64 registered attendees.
For its 2019 Study Tour, the Natural Stone Institute headed to Knoxville, TN, to visit several local stone companies and equipment manufacturers, as well as time to mingle and enjoy the southern culture
Home to the University of Tennessee and host to the 1982 World’s Fair, Knoxville, TN, was the destination for the 2019 Natural Stone Institute Study Tour, which drew a total of 66 participants. The four-day event provided an arena for attendees to mingle and network through many sessions and activities.

LUMBERTON, NJ -- Blanco, the German manufacturer of finely crafted sinks and faucets, has announced five winners of its first annual Blanco by Design contest. Entrants were required to submit a kitchen or small space design featuring one Blanco sink and one Blanco faucet for a chance to win up to $5,000.
The Blanco by Design contest ran from August until November 2017 and winners were hand selected by a panel of esteemed design professionals.
