GI Stone, one of the country’s leading commercial stone fabrication and installation firms, made history twice with the recent hire of Camra Sanders as a stone mason. Not only is Sanders the first female stone mason to join the award-winning firm, but she's also the first woman to join Chicago's Stone Masons Union Local 21 as a marble finisher in 20 years.
Over 100 members attended NSI’s annual study tour, which took place in western Colorado, September 10th to 14th. Highlights of the event included a rare glimpse inside Colorado Stone Quarries’ historic Pride of America marble quarry and fabrication facility and a trip to the Gallegos stone yard and marble shop in Gypsum. During the Gallegos visit, attendees enjoyed a fun Poker Run activity featuring their suppliers.

The Floor Covering Education Foundation (FCEF) is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a federal grant to fund installation training programs at several colleges in Alabama over the next three years.
