Hershel Margaretten Named 2025 Stone World Fabricator of the Year

Among a crowd of his peers and other industry professionals, Hershel “Hershey” Margaretten, owner of Imperial Marble & Granite Inc. in Ramsey, NJ, was presented with the 2025 Stone World Fabricator of the Year Award. The presentation was held on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, during The International Surface Event (tise) – the annual stone, tile and flooring exhibition held annually at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, NV.
Margaretten was rooted in the stone industry from an early age. After immigrating from Israel with his family, he began a career in the construction industry. He first worked in Brooklyn until he joined his father in fabricating stone countertops at his facility based in Pearl River, NY.
“We built ourselves by name,” he said. “At that time, it was a very unique industry. We grew pretty quickly.”
Margaretten explained that he and his father focused on high-end customized stonework. The rapid growth of the company led them to move to Ramsey, NJ. “We have a huge facility with a 50,000-square-foot showroom,” he said. “We direct import our own slabs. We also have a West Coast location where we do mass production for projects.
“We have grown to a strong operation,” Margaretten went on to say. “We created leadership and a sales team. We do cross-country work. We have teams in Ohio and Nashville.”
Margaretten also recognizes the Rockheads Group, an exclusive network of elite fabricators committed to advancing the stone industry through shared knowledge and innovation – bringing together industry leaders to exchange business intelligence, operational insights and proven strategies that drive both customer satisfaction and profitability. “We love sharing information,” he said. “I think it makes everyone better.”
Margaretten was nominated by Rick Stimac, CEO of BB Industries, for Stone World’s Fabricator of the Year Award. “Hershey exemplifies the highest standards of craftsmanship, leadership and integrity in the stone fabrication industry,” stated Stimac. “His commitment to quality, innovation and customer satisfaction has earned Imperial Marble & Granite a reputation as one of the most respected fabricators in the region.
“In every aspect – from craftsmanship and innovation to leadership and integrity – Hershey embodies what it means to be a true fabricator of the year,” Stimac continued. “His impact extends far beyond his own company, inspiring others and strengthening the industry as a whole.”
Margaretten expressed his gratitude for the nomination and award. “Being named Fabricator of the Year is a tremendous honor for Imperial Marble,” he said. “This recognition reflects our continued growth, our investment in advanced technology, and – most importantly – the craftsmanship and customer service our team brings to every project. We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve built and grateful to Stone World for this recognition.”
Stone World looks forward to visiting Imperial Marble & Granite’s operation in the near future. Look for a story coming soon.
