It’s hard to believe another year is almost in the books. For us at Contemporary Stone & Tile Design, 2019 has been a great year meeting and learning about different architects and designers and seeing the projects they have produced. It’s something that brings us immense joy and we are thankful to everyone that participated in stories this year, and look forward to working with even more people in 2020.

Starting on page 16 is a very exciting project, a mystery kitchen makeover. Dawn D. Totty did an excellent job incorporating stone into this beautiful kitchen redesign. Also for residential design we have a beautiful whole house project done in Valley Vista, CA. This project uses about 9,000 square feet of tile in this new build.

Our next set of features were a focus on glass and decorative tiles. The first project was designed by Sheryl Steinberg and had the challenge of taking a small space and making it feel larger. See how she did it on page 30. On page 36 we have a California home that uses beautiful mosaic tile accents to give it a cozy feeling.

For this issue’s Q&A, we feature Danilo Bonazza, a mosaic tile artist. His story is as incredible as some of the art he can create with mosaic tiles. See his story on page 24. On page 40 we have something a little different for you. We had Michael Sawicki, MS Tile & Stone Advisor, write an article about lippage control systems, with the hopes to help architects and designers understand a tile installer’s perspective on lippage and how it can be mitigated. Finally for this issue’s new products, we feature different new tiles from around the industry on page 12.

Once again, I think everyone who participated in our magazine this year. It is always a joy to learn more about you and see the amazing projects you come up with. If you have any projects that you would like us to feature in Contemporary Stone & Tile Design magazine, or if you want to be featured in our Q&A section. Never hesitate to reach out to me at kameryj@bnpmedia.com. I look forward to seeing you all next year!
