Epiroc’s World Class Rock Drills – Now Even Better

SmartROC Drill
April 5, 2019

The world’s most proven rock drills have become even better – Epiroc is proud to present a series of three new high speed rock drills. "We know that our contractors want equipment with a long service life, and this is how we meet their expectations," says Ulf Gyllander, global product manager at Epiroc.

The series of drills, COP SC16, COP SC19 and COP SC25, are developed with Epiroc’s latest technology and feature several improvements. The most important benefit is that they are developed for an 800 impact hour recommended service interval – with with no sacrifice in drilling performance. The extended recommended service interval is due to upgraded and enhanced components.

"Eight hundred hours compared to the previous 600 hours is a big difference – and a longer service life doesn’t only help decrease service costs – the unit will also have more uptime and produce more, which means lower total cost of ownership," says Gyllander.

The new series comes with optimized rock contact, while simultaneously protecting the rock drill from harmful energy recoils. Additionally, cleaner operation due to reduced wear on the boom and feed components is another important plus-point. As before, the versatility of the rock drill provides an optimal performance, even in different conditions. "This is a top machine with overall high performance – a reliable unit that you can count on day in and day out," Gyllander says.

The new series is replacing the 1600-, 1800-, and 2500-series, which already has a very good reputation in the business. Epiroc has therefore high expectations for this release. "We hope to build on the already great reputation with the new series – and continue make our customers satisfied," says Gyllander.

The drill series COP SC16, COP SC19 and COP SC25 is replacing the COP 1600-, COP 1800-, and COP 2500-series.

The new rock drills are developed to suit following models:
- SmartROC T35 - SmartROC T40 - SmartROC T45
- FlexiROC T30 R Construction Edition - FlexiROC T30 R Quarry Edition
- FlexiROC T35 R - FlexiROC T40 R - FlexiROC T35 - FlexiROC T40 - FlexiROC T45
