On November 14 the U.S. Department of Commerce (“Commerce”) announced in an amended preliminary determination that it significantly increased the countervailing duty (“CVD”) rates it will impose on most Indian imports of quartz surface products to 83.79 percent.
Recently, Stone World published a report about the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative releasing a list of approximately $200 billion worth of Chinese imports that will be subject to additional tariffs, including quartz and a range of natural stone products.
While a lot of information is out there on the tariffs that are being proposed on quartz from China, Stone World spoke to the president of MSI to get a distributor’s perspective on the matter
