First 2026 Stone Industry Education Event Experiences Large Turnout
A sizeable group came out for the all-day educational session hosted by Arizona Tile to learn and network

The first of 10 Stone Industry Education (SIE) events for the year launched on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Arizona Tile’s showroom and warehouse in Albuquerque, NM. The SIE series, organized by Stone World in partnership with the Natural Stone Institute (NSI), is designed to unite fabricators to discuss pertinent issues they are facing today, as well as to learn technical information that will assist in top-quality stone production.
The all-day session in February was led by industry veteran Tony Malisani of Malisani Inc. in Great Falls, MT, who runs a fourth-generation fabrication shop. More than 40 fabricators attended from surrounding areas.
In addition to Malisani’s talk on the geology of natural stone, demonstrations from event sponsors reviewed the science behind abrasives and adhesives (Big Dog Adhesives), how to properly seal quartzite (Dry-Treat) and digital templating technology (Laser Products Industries).
“I like that we are providing you with the opportunity to learn and talk to one another,” Tracy Morlack, Arizona Tile regional manager, told the audience. “Speak with the people next to you to see what challenges they have been having. Talk about some of your successes. Maybe you can help each other. I think that is what makes this such a great event.”
