The Geom series by Alea is presented as a select and versatile material, with a set of shapes and textures that creates distinguished and contemporary environments. The irregularity of its format provides this collection with a style stripped of superfluous elements, but simultaneously elegant and innovative in its shapes. Each piece Alea creates is exclusive and avant-garde, with unique textural designs, which comes from the imagination of the most daring designers and new decorative trends.

One of Realonda’s draws is 3D effects on its tiles. From the smallest to the biggest format, highly advanced techniques are utilized in order to create different effects. The various series are based on the innovation and design of reliefs, including the new Diamond and Zaire series, which are a combination of high relief, bright colors and hexagonal shapes. This is a breakthrough to what has been produced up until now. The porcelain tile series, available in one standard format, is offered in several different stone-inspired looks to suit any space.

One of the new introductions from Roca Tiles is the Mattier collection, a wall tile based on the reinterpretation of the color white. It surprises due to its light contrasts and subtle combinations of blacks and whites, which represent the rise of minimalism. The range is available in three finishes, including Mattier Gloss White and Mattier Matt White, which stand out for their reliefs; and Mattier Acuarel White, which creates a clean, glossy watercolor effect. Mattier is available in two sizes:
31 x 61 and 31 x 9.4 cm.

Saloni Cerámica recently introduced Integra, an extensive collection of large-format wall tiles and porcelain floor tiles with an appearance inspired by earth and cement. This lends it a modern air further enhanced by its different relief patterns, varied designs and pleasant textures. Available in a choice of four natural-looking colors, with assorted patterns and relief textures, its large-format 40- x 120-cm wall tile and 60- x 60- and 20- x 120-cm floor tiles are perfect for creating indoor settings. Integra also features small-format 7.5- x 38-cm wall tiles, available in three different colors and an extensive assortment of patterns.

The new Woodstock collection from Tau Ceramica shows a combination of different sizes in shaded colors, integrated in a random way within the same piece, which makes it unique. The porcelain tile collection was inspired by the look of a worn vintage wood. Available in eight different colors and two formats — 45 x 90 and 22.5 x 90 cm — which can both be combined, the range is offered in two different kinds of finishes: matte and anti-slip.

Aston by Vives Ceramica personifies the majesty of the stone. Available in three colors — Nacre, Gray and Basalt — and a matte finish, Aston is adaptable to any space. Traditional formats, inspired by various natural elements, include Bolney, Benson Hexagon and Provenzal Horne. Decorative options include Margate Multicolor, which recreates a melodic and formal universe thanks to its chromatic combinations; Luton Multicolor Hexagon, full of creative energy with its 3-D effects; and Provenzal Dinder Multicolor, an exercise of simplicity and efficiency. The series concludes with Bramber and Tufton models, two new mosaics available in all three colors.

To enhance its mosaic tile options, Alttoglass utilized inkjet technology to create its new collection, Ink. Appropriately named after the technology which is utilized to develop these mosaics, the tiles in Ink are offered in a standard 13.5- x 13.5-inch format, and are available in both matte and glossy finishes. The tiles also incorporate a myriad of decorative options to spice up any backsplash or wall application, including Antique Black (shown).

Aparici’s new collection, Terre, is a reinvention of traditional terracotta floors. “Terracotta,” which means “baked earth,” comes from the Latin words “terracocta,” which refer to the clay-based products used in the past to create decorative elements as well as floor tiles. The aim of Terre was to break away from the typical square-shaped terracotta floor and create an elegant, rectangular format — 25 x 100 cm — in porcelain. The modern collection is offered in a variation of three different tonalities.

Cevica continues to evolve in ceramic decoration with the new Mini collection. With Mini, Cevica sought inspiration from the roots of ceramics and has thus developed ceramic pieces pressed and decorated by hand, with very intense colors, or decorated with digital printing. The manual press allows Cevica to obtain extraordinary reliefs, where the material appears to have small ceramic figures embedded in the collection’s tiles. Mini consists of three series — Mini-Bricks, Mini-Letters and Mini-Flowers — which are complemented with all kinds of special pieces for the perfect finish.

One of Equipe Ceramicas’ new porcelain tile collections, Kite, embraces the trending hexagonal shape. Offered in seven standard colors and a 4- x 12-inch format, Kite also offers a variety of decorative options, including Patchwork (shown). The series is applicable on walls and floors, with unique mechanical properties, including scratch and frost resistance, and can be utilized to complement any space in your home.

The new series, Petra, by Inalco was inspired by the natural limestone rock formations, which were utilized to create this unique porcelain tile collection with a strong personality. The collection was added to the company’s iTOPKer countertop offerings. Among the handful of color offerings, Petra is also available in a bushhammered finish, conveying all of the style and decorative possibilities that the iTOPKer solutions range offers with its 1500- x 3200-mm format. In addition, 100- x 250-cm format tiles are offered for wall coatings, as well as 100- x 100-cm tiles for floors.

For the newly-developed Ardennes collection, the design team took their inspiration from different types of tree wood found in an area of hills and woodland that crosses the borders of three countries — France, Luxembourg and Belgium. The Ardennes woods possess a hypnotic beauty that Keraben has skillfully managed to bring to anyone’s home. Offered in six colors and one standard format, the tiles in Ardennes have a high resistance to wear and tear, with a surface finish that can withstand the effects of sunlight, making them ideal for both indoors and outdoors.

The Feria Valencia Centre in Valencia, Spain, again welcomed another edition of Cevisama, the international tile and stone exhibition, which continues to draw in more visitors from all parts of the world each year to view the industry’s latest introductions and technologies. This year, the show was held from February 1 to 5, 2016, where it attracted nearly one of the largest crowds to date.
Throughout each of the exhibiting booths that Contemporary Stone & Tile Design visited, it was clear that certain trends still remain popular and are steadily developing, including all ranges of wood, stone and brick looks, as well as concrete- and cement-inspired industrial finishes. Glazed subway tiles, with distinguished glossy surfaces, geometric shapes — especially the hexagon — and more mosaic options with decors were some of the newer styles that emerged among many tile manufacturers. It was apparent that companies are also developing more textural options, seen in many different types of decors, shapes and patterns.
The following is a sampling of some of the newest trending tile products that were on display at the 2016 edition of Cevisama: SEE SLIDESHOW
