U.S. Granite Machinery has developed the Magnum, a 4-axis CNC cutting and polishing machine, designed specifically for stone countertop fabrication and the production of all custom edges. The Magnum is built from the ground up for rock solid service and performance, according to the company. The machine runs on Windows NT platform or DOS with storage for more than 200,000 sink and pattern shapes on the hard drive. It has 64-bit precision, capable of 8-axis simultaneous control and a servo updated rate of 50 microseconds per axis, reported U.S. Granite Machinery. This machine comes with a standard phone modem for additional training, problem solving and software upgrades. The standard table size is 100 x 120 inches, but the Magnum can be custom sized to fit special needs.
