Three years ago, two leading German natural stone companies (one founded in 1877 and one in 1882) combined their years of experience to become a single entity, VeroStone GbmH.

Because of its structural integrity and its diversity of color and texture, natural stone has been popular as a building material for centuries. To understand the natural attributes of stone, it is important to have some understanding of stone’s geological background.

Stephanie Vierra has developed, managed and taught programs that support an interdisciplinary and integrated approach to a variety of topics. She is the president and owner of Vierra Design & Education Services, LLC, specializing in research, project management, and educational programs on sustainability and whole building design.

As the saying goes, “It takes a village.” And that is exactly what was needed to erect this 84,000-square-foot cultural facility, which included a total of 4,406 unique stone panels – 2, 3 and 5cm thick — with heights of 18, 24 and 30 inches.

A total of 130 registered attendees and 18 vendors gathered at Slabworks of Montana’s facility in Bozeman, MT, on August 9 and 10, 2018 to take part in one of several workshops held by the Stone Fabricators Alliance (SFA) throughout the U.S. each year.

Located in the generally flat terrain of Dallas, TX, sits a house on a unique parcel of land. The homeowners wanted to transform the property and the house to be able to host friends, workout in and primarily live on the first floor.

For the last few years, the Natural Stone Institute (NSI) has been hosting groups of industry professionals to various countries around the world — including Brazil, China, Italy and Turkey — as part of its efforts to promote the use of natural stone in design.

For the past eight years, the Stone Fabricator’s Alliance (SFA) takes a group of fabricators from North America, many of which have never traveled once outside the country, and brings them to Italy to learn about machinery, tooling and different types of stone.

Marmomac will celebrate its 53rd edition this fall. Thousands of exhibitors and visitors will converge at Veronafiere in Verona, Italy, from September 26 to 29, 2018 to take part in the global event and view the latest product developments.
