July 7, 2026

Wood’s Powr-Grip (WPG), a global leader in vacuum lifting technology for more than 60 years, is proud to introduce the Powr-Lift 1600™, a new telehandler with integrated vacuum lifter, designed to help contractors handle large glass and other non-porous materials with greater safety, precision and efficiency.

Built to meet the growing demands of today’s jobsites, the Powr-Lift 1600 gives installation teams the ability to lift and place materials weighing up to 1,600 pounds (725 kilograms) while reducing physical strain, improving safety and increasing productivity. By helping technicians complete demanding installations more efficiently, the Powr-Lift 1600 can quickly pay for itself through labor savings, faster project completion, expanded capabilities and reduced risk of injury and material damage.

Increases Productivity While Reducing Stress

Labor shortages, rising costs and increasing safety demands are challenging contractors across the construction industry. The Powr-Lift 1600 helps installers do more with the people they already have by reducing heavy lifting tasks and allowing skilled workers to focus on their craft rather than demanding physical labor.

The result is a more productive team that can complete jobs faster, take on larger projects and improve overall profitability. For many contractors, the productivity gains alone can help justify the investment and deliver a rapid return.

“Customers have been asking for a mobile manipulator backed by the quality, reliability and support they expect from Wood’s Powr-Grip,” said Bryan Wood, president and CEO. “We took the time to build it right. The Powr-Lift 1600 helps teams lift heavier, work safer and finish faster -- and by increasing productivity on every job, it will pay for itself faster than many contractors expect.”

High-Quality Construction by an American Manufacturer

Designed and manufactured in Laurel, MT, the Powr-Lift 1600 reflects the long-standing commitment of Wood’s Powr-Grip to engineering excellence, product quality and responsive customer support.

Customers benefit from:

  • More than 60 years of lifting expertise
  • Responsive technical support
  • Overnight parts availability
  • Service from a company that is only a phone call away

Features Contractors Can Depend On

The Powr-Lift 1600 is engineered for real-world jobsite conditions and includes advanced features, designed to improve control and versatility, including:

  • 1,600 lbs (725 kg) lifting capacity
  • Powered boom extension conveniently positions skylights, windows and storefronts.
  • Maximum Lifting Height:
    • 13.25' or 159" (404 cm) with vertical loads
    • 14.5' or 173.5" (441 cm) with horizontal loads
  • 8" (20 cm) Side shift for precise placement
  • Smooth variable-speed controls
  • Rugged jobsite-ready construction
  • Proven WPG vacuum technology

Designed to Pay for Itself

The Powr-Lift 1600 is not only a piece of equipment but also an investment in productivity. By reducing manual handling, improving installation speed and helping teams complete more work with greater confidence, the Powr-Lift 1600 can deliver measurable returns through:

  • Increased jobsite productivity
  • Faster project completion
  • Reduced injury exposure
  • Less material damage and rework
  • Greater job capacity and profitability

Real-World Performance on the Jobsite

Whether installing oversized glass panels, curtain-wall units, metal panels or other non-porous materials, the Powr-Lift 1600 delivers the control and confidence contractors need to tackle demanding projects. The Powr-Lift 1600 helps contractors lift smarter, work safer and get more from their teams -- delivering productivity gains that can quickly offset the initial investment.

Availability

The Powr-Lift 1600 is available through Wood’s Powr-Grip’s authorized dealer network. To learn more, request a demonstration or find a dealer, visit https://www.wpg.com/powr-lift.
