Portobello America Turns Sustainable Ideas into Tangible Experiences

BAXTER, TN -- Portobello America recently concluded its second annual Portobello Sustainability Week, a three-day immersive event held from June 16 to 18, 2026, at its Baxter, TN facility. Driven by this year’s bold theme -- "Sustainability in Action, Ideas That Transform” -- the event successfully turned the company's dialogue about sustainability into tangible experiences that associates could see, touch and actively be a part of. The resounding message of the week was clear: "Less talk, more proof."
Originating as a longstanding initiative by the Portobello Group in Brazil, Portobello Sustainability Week was proudly adopted by Portobello America in 2025. This year's edition built significantly upon that initial momentum, gathering approximately 60 associates for three days of hands-on engagement, education and community connection. The event served as a vital platform to engage the team in critical conversations around sustainable practices, community involvement and the company's shared commitment to responsible growth.
A major highlight of the week occurred on Tuesday, celebrating the intersection of sustainability, great design and community support. Driven by the belief that design lives beyond its products and within the surrounding communities, Portobello America partnered with local artist Brittany Robert.
Recognized for her unique style and ability to capture the distinct character of the Cookeville area, Robert brought Portobello America's vision to life. Her work struck a beautiful balance between artistry and architecture, creating a piece that feels authentically connected to both the brand and the region. The collaboration highlighted the company's ongoing investment in the local community, recognizing that supporting local talent like Robert is essential to fostering a vibrant, creative, and inspiring environment.
“Sustainability Week is a meaningful milestone for Portobello America. It provides an opportunity to celebrate a topic that is fundamental to our business while inviting our associates to reflect on and engage with the principles that guide our ESG journey,” said Renato Ramos, head of marketing and transformation at Portobello America. “The week encourages important conversations around environmental stewardship, social responsibility and governance, helping us better understand the role each of us plays in building a more sustainable future. This second edition marks an important step forward, with even greater participation and engagement across the organization. It reinforces our commitment to operating responsibly and integrating sustainability into the core of our business, where it continues to guide our decisions, actions and long-term vision.”
Through initiatives like Sustainability Week and partnerships with local artists, Portobello America continues to prove that its dedication to ESG principles goes far beyond the manufacturing floor, touching the lives of its associates and the broader Tennessee community.
