New Partnership Forges Mid-Century-Style Mosaic Collection

Artaic and Town and Country-Surfaces Cosmic in Classic Restaurant Scene

December 9, 2025

BOSTON, MA -- Artaic, a leading mosaic manufacturer renowned for its innovative use of robotic technology and design tools to create custom award-winning installations, announced a new partnership with New York City-based surfaces brand Town and Country Surfaces. The partnership includes a new collection of mosaics designed and manufactured to order, with inventoried tile in the U.S.

As part of the partnership, the brands developed the Mid Century Modern Collection, an exclusive line of patterned mosaics featuring classic mid-century motifs reimagined through a modern lens. Scott Hyman, president of Town & Country, envisioned the concepts for the four new patterns, leveraging his decades of experience with surfaces and collaboration with Artaic to transform the vision into the mosaic medium. The Mid Century Modern Collection is personal to Hyman, who describes it as a distillation of his lifelong passion for mid-century and Art Deco design. Influenced by decades of walking tours through New York City, studies of mosaic and architectural patterning, and years spent in Palm Springs, where mid-century modern design still thrives, the collection reflects a 50-year appreciation for the style’s geometry and spirit. “These influences have always been in the ether,” said Hyman. “We revisited them through a modern lens, tweaking, rescaling and reimagining familiar forms in fresh ways.”

Using Artaic’s proprietary Tylist™ software, Artaic translated Scott’s vision from concept to scaled artwork. Intentionally designed to scale to suit projects of any size, the mosaics can be adapted to cover surfaces ranging from residential showers to expansive commercial installations, offering architects and designers a flexible and impactful solution across various markets.

Each pattern is available in four colorways, tailored to its unique design and inspired by mid-century modern’s warm tones, vibrant contrasts and subtle neutrals. For projects requiring complete flexibility, the designs are customizable in any hue from Artaic’s broader color palette. Through both design and color, the collection is a tribute to the bold geometry, clean lines and playful sophistication of the mid-20th century.

“Partnerships like this are rare,” said Ted Acworth, founder and CEO of Artaic. “Scott and I have always been on the same wavelength, dreaming about what is never been done. This partnership has given us the opportunity to show what is possible when passion for design, fueled by technology, comes together."

For both brands, the partnership was a natural fit. Having long respected one another’s work, the collaboration grew from a shared forward-thinking design aesthetic, technical expertise and personal integrity. Both teams are driven by the same philosophy: creating magnificent works of art in a cost- and time-effective way without sacrificing creativity or lead times.

“At the heart of this partnership is a shared drive to create something new and unique, to bring something truly proprietary to the industry,” said Hyman. “With Artiac, we found a partner who not only understands that ambition but has the technology and artistry to make it real.”

The Mid-Century Modern Collection is sold in square-foot modules, with shipping within two to four weeks, and is sold exclusively through Town & Country Surfaces. The partnership further reinforces Artaic’s dedication to advancing the mosaic medium through U.S.-based innovation. The collection is manufactured and inventoried domestically, ensuring reliable availability and streamlined delivery, and is Build America, Buy America certified. Special trade pricing is also available, offering designers a streamlined, reliable option for meeting project deadlines without sacrificing style.

“Sooner or later in any project, there’s a problem to solve; it’s how you solve it that matters,” said Hyman. “With Artiac, we have a partner that stands behind the work, one that is as collaborative and solution-oriented as we are.”

With decades of experience serving the major A&D industry in New York, Town & Country brings unmatched market insight and relationships to the partnership. In addition to launching the collection, Town & Country Surfaces will represent Artaic in the New York metro market, offering the broader custom mosaic capabilities from the Artaic brand. Together, President Scott Hyman and Managing Partner Jordan Dean bring a unique combination of design vision and market expertise -- pairing the duo's deep knowledge of surfaces with strategic insight and long-standing relationships in the New York design community. This leadership ensures that Artaic’s innovative mosaics are positioned as both a creative and practical solution for architects, designers and clients across the region.
