Natural Stone Institute Recognizes Stony Creek Quarry Master for Outstanding Work
OBERLIN, OH -- This week, Natural Stone Institute (NSI) members are celebrating innovation in quarrying at the Study Tour in Georgia with the presentation of the Thor Lundh Quarrier Award. Established in 2024, the award recognizes a NSI member who has made an extraordinary contribution to quarrying natural stone.
The recipient of the 2025 NSI Thor Lundh Quarrier Award is Richard Atkinson, quarry master at Stony Creek Quarry.
Selection criteria for the award includes:
Successful and notable accomplishments throughout a professional career in quarrying natural stone.
Involvement and dedication to the activities and objectives of quarrying operations.
Contributions made to furthering other professionals in the career of quarrying.
Natural Stone Institute member in good standing.
