More than 50 Years of Machine Manufacturing Excellence

Ernesto Comandulli founded Comandulli Srl in 1972 in Castelleone – located in the province of Cremona in northern Italy -- to produce state-of-the-art edge polishing machines. Today, the second-generation-run company is known for combining Italian engineering excellence with reliable performance, earning the trust of stone fabricators worldwide.
“It was a farming area, so my father, [Ernesto], was a farmer,” explained Mara Comandulli, company vice president. “When he was about 27- or 28-years-old, he had the idea to make the first edge polisher to bullnose. Comandulli was literally the first manufacturer to make an edge polishing machine that did a bullnose.”
As demand grew, Comandulli expanded internationally, establishing a strong presence in markets across Europe, North America, Asia, and the Middle East. The machine manufacturer actively participates in trade shows and other industry events to continue to promote awareness of its products to fabricators everywhere. It also participates annually in the Stone Fabricator’s Alliance Italy Tour.
“Every year, we prepare with great enthusiasm,” said Valentina Sacco, managing director of Comandulli. “It's like hosting a friend who comes to visit! It's a privilege to have the chance to show how our machines are produced -- from the very first stage through each production step. We like to share the tale of our story, the roots of the company, and the very true satisfaction that comes when our guest truly feels the passion and dedication that drives us in our work every day. It's always a pleasure to host the SFA Italian Tour!”
Those on the Tour not only had the opportunity to see how the machinery is built and watch it in operation, but they also were fortunate to meet Ernesto Comandulli, who still comes to work every day.
“Our tour was personally given by Mara Comandulli, the daughter of Ernesto Comandulli, where she explained their continued investment in advanced manufacturing technology,” said Rick Graff of GSS Fabrication, Inc. in Richland, WA. “In the last year, they invested in a multi-million dollar multi-axis milling machine for even their largest polishing machine to fabricate finish tolerances within 0.001” in a single setup. The array of finish profiles laid out before us was amazing to see from such a simple-looking machine.”
