Antolini®, known for its luxury brand of quality stone products, will once again wow attendees and elevate its display space further during Marmomac 2025, the annual international stone exhibition held in Verona, Italy. For this year’s event, scheduled for September 23th to 26th, Antolini will capture the eye of showgoers with its own pavilion, located in the Gallerie Mercatali, which sits opposite the Veronafiere Exhibition Centre. The 71,040-square-foot exhibition hall will be in addition to Antolini’s booth – positioned in the outdoor area of the entrance to the fair.
Constructed from 1951 to 1956, the Gallerie Mercatali housed the fruit and vegetable market until the 1990s, before being transferred to the Quadrante Europa district. The area was vacated in 2010. In 2015, Veronafiere acquired the entire space from Verona City Council with intentions to redevelop and valorize the building and outdoor area -- offering Verona a new venue to expand trade fair activities essentially focusing on events.
Alberto Antolini, CEO of Antolini, recently shared with Stone World some insight into what Marmomac attendees can expect from the company’s planned experience.
SW: How did the idea for the pavilion come about?
AA: The actual goal is to create the path of an immersive live experience through the fascinating world of natural stone. This unique journey begins at the quarry, moves through the raw block and the ultimate state-of-the-art production technologies landing in the colorful visual impact of the finished slab -- where each stage offers its own unique storytelling.
SW: What are you most excited about regarding the new pavilion?
AA: Within the unique setting of the “Gallerie Mercatali,” Antolini is dedicating an independent and carefully considered space to each material -- allowing every stone to express its own identity and charm.
Our aim was to present the full journey of natural stone, from its place of origin to the finished product, offering visitors a comprehensive view of this process. Layer by layer, the story unfolds revealing the complexity, beauty and character embedded in each stage.
SW: Antolini always has a luxurious booth that makes its customers comfortable. Are you planning anything new for your customer experience?
AA: This year, visitors to the “Padiglione Antolini” will be invited to step into an immersive exploration of our world and the distinctive materials that define it. Set within the historic “Gallerie Mercatali” -- a landmark dating back to the mid-20th century -- the experience brings together the architectural character of this unique building with the elegance of a carefully selected natural stones palette, thus creating a compelling dialogue between heritage and innovation. Spanning a wide exhibition space, this exclusive presentation features a curated collection of 50 hand-selected unique materials, offering a rare opportunity to discover the depth, diversity and beauty of natural stone.
SW: Antolini has had a longstanding relationship with Marmomac. What does the show mean to you?
AA: Antolini's relationship with Marmomac management has always been a close and valued one -- a space for meaningful exchange and inspiration. Presenting our unique project at “Gallerie Mercatali” definitely represents a step forward in such dialogue -- strengthening our mutual cooperation and consolidating our deep connection.
SW: When planning and designing a pavilion such as this, what are some considerations that are taken?
AA: Our essential focus was allowing natural stone to be the core of the whole experience -- not simply as a material, but as the defining element of the entire space. We envisioned an environment that would elevate its overall presence still empowering each variety to express its own individual character. A space where every stone has the liberty to speak its own language and reveal its true identity.
