R11 Anti-Slip Finish by Emser Tile

R11 is a unique anti-slip finish for outdoor spaces, high-traffic areas and tile exposed to water and moisture that preserves the look of the tile.
The advancements in glaze technology have allowed our industry to offer a similar look the same products while keeping many of the other technical characteristics identical.
The finish will typically be seen as a little more matte in low-angle light conditions and a little dry to the touch.
The additives utilized in the glazing process to increase the Coefficient of Friction are done before the material is fired, therefore it is not a component that will wear-off over time, it is with the tile for its entire life-cycle.
R11 TEST
To be certified R11 means that a person did not exhibit any slipping until the ramps reached the angles of 19-27 degrees
The test is administered with normal conditions, the addition of water as well as the addition of oil/grease, and the average of all three are combined to create the rating.
The rubber hardness of the shoe is tested (96 hardness) to ensure all testing is identical.
