NYIAD partners with Decorating Den Interiors to offer graduate a pathway to an interior design career

latest news
October 10, 2018

New York, NY – The New York Institute of Art and Design has partnered with Decorating Den Interiors, North America’s largest interior design franchise company, to offer graduates a pathway to a new interior design career. Graduates of NYIAD’s online Interior Design Course will be able to apply for a Decorating Den Interiors franchise, allowing them to go into business for themselves with the support of a large, established organization behind them.

“In addition to offering the freedom of working for yourself but not by yourself, we provide professional ongoing training, business management help, national advertising, mentorship and coaching, and access to a huge wholesale buying network,” explained. Kevin Atkinson, vice president of program development at Decorating Den Interiors. “With our assistance, many of our designers have been featured in international magazines and books, and at the High Point Home Furnishings Market.”

In addition to the freedom of working for yourself, Decorating Den Interiors offers their franchise owners professional training, business management help, national advertising, mentorship and coaching, and access to a wholesale buying network. Through this new partnership, any graduate of the New York Institute of Art and Design who is approved to open a Decorating Den franchise will receive a full tuition reimbursement up to $1,500.

“One of our biggest goals here at NYIAD, beyond providing comprehensive interior design training to our students, is to incorporate practical, step-by-step business training as well,” shared NYIAD interior design mentor Janet Ramin. “It’s the lifelong goal of many of our students to graduate with the skills necessary to launch their own design firm. Not only will this partnership provide Decorating Den with designers incredibly well trained in both the art and business of design, it will provide the students with the perfect next step towards a great career- a professional network including invaluable business resources and tools for further success.”

Once a student logs into NYIAD’s online course, students can access the Student Benefits page to find information on how to join the Decorating Den Interiors community and how to apply for tuition reimbursement.
