Machine of the Month: Fast 5 Veneer Saw
Eurostone Machine USA Inc. and MEC recently announced the successful installation of the first Fast 5 veneer saw. Designed from the ground up to be the fastest and most versatile production veneer saw, the Fast 5 has exceeded all original expectations.
The Fast 5 is an industry first with computer controls and five independently driven in-line blades. The utilization of a direct-drive motor on each blade allows for instantaneous corrections of speed and torque on each head, and therefore completely optimized run rates on any kind of stone. The touch-screen interface allows direct programming of the saw, while internet connectivity also allows remote programming and troubleshooting.
The new Fast saw family comes in 2-, 3- and 5-blade versions. In all versions, each blade is driven by a computer-controlled, variable speed motor and run speed optimization is achieved by computer management of belt and blade speed and torque.
