The SFA recently held the latest installment of their Fabrication Workshop series in North Carolina, with Salem Stone as the gracious host of the two-day event. The Workshop included a trip to Johnson Granite, a top-notch fabricator in Mt. Airy, NC, that is a proud SFA member as well as being designated as an Accredited Natural Stone Fabricator by the Marble Institute of America (MIA). Both GMM and Montressor had representatives at the shop to demonstrate their machinery to the group of fabricators.

Fabricators from seven states attended the Workshop, which also included a trip to the Mt. Airy quarry and production plant of North Carolina Granite. The large-scale operation and quarry offered a unique opportunity for fabricators to see where the stone comes from and how it is processed into the products they ultimately work with.

Salem Stone hosted a barbecue at their facilities, including locally brewed beer and award-winning barbecue by local pitmasters from Bibs. Demonstrations of tooling and equipment were offered during the informal gathering, and folks were treated to a great event. Sponsors of the event, in addition to Salem Stone, were GMM, Laser Products, Prodim, Rock Star, Sasso, Granquartz and Alpha Professional Tools.
