VERONA, ITALY-- Marmi Bruno Zanet, in collaboration with Abitare il Tempo, Marmomacc and New Business Media, is launching the first edition of the International Competition of Ideas "From Nature to Design." In a search for new interpretations in the use of granite, the initiative aims to involve designers, architects, engineers and project designers of all nationalities in designing and developing the use of the stone in a contemporary design concept. The contest, which can be participated in by sending nominations by August 26, combines architecture, innovation and creativity and is free of charge. An object, or a piece of furniture, but also coverings and construction solutions that will fit into a modern and functional setting, are just some of the formal and functional concepts the jury is planning to evaluate.

The selection and evaluation of projects will take into account creativity and originality, degree of innovation, research and testing of new design solutions and also the degree of technical feasibility. A total of 10 projects will be selected as the winners of the contest. Additionally, the jury will have the right to nominate another five projects specially mentioned and deemed worthy for their particular characteristics.

During the evaluation of projects, the formal characteristics and the ability of projects to develop and advance innovative usage scenarios will also be assessed.

Thanks to the VeronaFiere's Partnership, the most deserving projects will be awarded September 25, during an evening event at the Abitare il Tempo and Marmomacc's trade fair, organized by Marmi Bruno Zanet.

The application can be downloaded by logging on www.brunozanet.com/en/contest2014, and then submitting to segreteriacontest@brunozanet.com by August 26.
