Cersaie 2013 Product Review
Exhibitors displayed their most aesthetically and technologically advanced ceramic tile products at the international tile exhibition – held annually in Bologna, Italy
Artwork by Ceramiche Refin
The Artwork Collection by Ceramiche Refin is based on a careful study of precious 11th-century Venetian wall finishes. In the development of the ArtworkCollection, the study of application techniques and the materials used were fundamental in creating an innovative, minimalist and contemporary design marked by classical inspiration. Artwork comes in 75- x 150-, 75- x 75- and 37.5- x 75-cm formats in six different colors, along with a 2-cm-thick textured variant which is ideal for outdoor applications.
Regeneration by Apavisa
New from Tile of Spain-branded manufacturer Apavisa is the Regeneration Collection. Available in Black, Gray and White, the collection comes in 90- x 90-, 45- x 90-, 30- x 90-, 15- x 90- and 5- x 15-cm formats. The series is also available in lappato and natural finishes for each size and color.
Seastone by Atlas Concorde
Seastone by Atlas Concorde is an evolved ceramic surface which takes inspiration from natural stone slabs. The collection has a minimalist look, characterized by variegated fossil traces. In residential and commercial architectural projects, Seastone combines the natural appeal of stone with the technical and functional performance of porcelain. In addition to square sizes, the series also includes 45- x 90-cm rectangular and 22.5- x 90-cm plank formats.
Seawood by Peronda
Seawood by Tile of Spain-branded manufacturer Peronda is a collection inspired by wood that has been treated or simply aged over time. With its seafaring essence, the Seawood Collection of porcelain tiles is available in two colors: B and M (pictured), as well as two formats: 15 x 91 cm and 20 x 121 cm. Seawood M, with its rich palette of browns, is inspired by the timber that may once have been used to build ships and today has been reused. In contrast, Seawood B comes in a range of more Mediterranean tones.
Slimmker Click by Inalco
Slimmker-Click is a floating ceramic tile system by Tile of Spain-branded manufacturer Inalco. It can be used to cover wall and floor surfaces. Installation can be done swiftly and cleanly, thanks to the interlocking tongue and groove system on all four sides. Conceived for indoor use, Slimmker-Click is ideal for places where surface coverings are regularly changed. Slimmker-Click is laid in a similar fashion to parquet flooring, with the added advantage that it is a dry-installation system with no need for any adhesive of any kind.
Surf by Dune
Tile of Spain-branded manufacturer Dune has broadened its array of inspiration to “70’s Americana” with decidedly Southern Cali flair in its new pop-art collection Surf. The high-quality decorative wall and floor tiles are available in 30 x 60 cm. In this design, Dune focuses on a fresh theme. This new concept makes it possible to use the piece not only at home but in many other applications such as restaurants and hotels. Surf is a distinctive piece with defined personality.
Caprice by Equipe
The Caprice Collection from Tile of Spain-branded manufacturer Equipe is available in White, Gray, Black, Taupe and Cream. The porcelain tile collection comes in 20- x 20-cm format. Additionally, the medium-sized wall tile collection includes 16 different decor tiles; among them, Caprice Taupe, Caprice Loire Corner, Caprice Loire Border and Caprice Loire.
FilaStonePlus Eco by Fila
Color-enhancing treatment for natural stone, marble and granite can now be carried out with a green product thanks to new FilaStonePlus Eco. The product penetrates deep down, protecting the natural stone from water and oil stains and enhancing its natural color. The use of FilaStonePlus Eco for surface treatment enables an 80% reduction in application times. Additionally, the product helps toward achieving LEED credits in accordance with American and Italian protocol, and it is suitable for contact with food.
Labest by Ceracasa
The Labest Collection by Tile of Spain-branded manufacturer Ceracasa, is a high-gloss porcelain tile. It has a brilliant sheen seen traditionally in a polished marble or onyx collection, combined with a wood look. Labest includes six colors of sumptuous exclusive woods in an almost mirror-finish.
Marbleline by Marazzi
Marazzi’s Marbleline Collection comes in six colors: Calacatta, Zebrino, Marfil, Travertino, Silk Georgette and Grafite. Marbleline is ideal for flooring in living areas, kitchens, bathrooms, and bedrooms as well as for commercial applications. This environmentally sustainable product is made using a closed-cycle production process containing 23% recycled material. The collection is available in a natural and polished, lux finish.

Mark by Atlas Concorde
Mark by Atlas Concorde is an all-in-one metropolitan look. The tile collection blends the look of various contemporary materials that combine elegance and expressive flair — cement, resin, stone, oxidized metals and wood. The different surface finishes and available sizes enhance the project potential to create original venues with a strong metropolitan character.
Maximum by Fiandre
GranitiFiandre has developed new sizes with its Maximum Collection. Maximum is the first porcelain stoneware on the international market to offer a surface of 4.5 meters squared per single slab, according to the manufacturer. The collection broadens its range with the 300- x 100- and 100- x 100-cm sizes. The 6-mm-thick porcelain panel comes in four colors -- Imperial White, Lunesis, Travertino (pictured) and Royal Marfil. The collection is available in a honed or polished finish.
Maxiwood by Italgraniti Group
The Maxiwood Collection from Italgraniti Group is a full-body porcelain tile — also available with a glazed finish — which can be used on floors and interior walls, as well as in heavy-traffic areas. The collection is offered in six colors: Rovere Bianco, Palissandro Grigio, Betulla Avorio and Noce Oro (pictured). Maxiwood’s new high-standard surface finish is obtained by a special mechanical lapping process.
Privilege by Ibero
Privilege by Iberocomes in a 30- x 100-cm rectified format for white body wall tiles. The collection features brush-like splashes of color. Inspired by watercolors, the collection’s gloss finish gives it a sense of vitality and elegance. Privilege is available in shades of White, Cobalt, Sky, Pink, Violet, Gray, Brown and Cream. Additionally, the collection includes a large number of decorative elements — ranging from ultra minimalistic to the most vibrant explosions of color.
Cersaie, the international Ceramic Tile and Bathroom Furnishings Exhibition, took place at the Bologna Exhibition Center in Bologna, Italy, from September 23 to 27, 2013. Celebrating its 31st edition, the event provided a platform for tile manufacturers, distributors, architects and designers from around the world to come together and share ideas and network.
