Trends in stone and tile

By Alexis Fisher
September 23, 2010

ABK

ABK, an Italian tile manufacturer, has designed Marbleway, a truly modern and advanced porcelain floor tile with matching white body ceramic wall tile. This series takes inspiration from natural marble, and is produced with the latest digital technology - offering six different looks, all of them in light shades that can be used alone or in combination with another color. The Marbleway series is offered in various sizes and textures, and it is suitable for residential as well as low-traffic commercial applications, according to the manufacturer.

Arizona Tile

The Skylights glass line from Arizona Tile is made from 8-mm, high-quality, heavy-duty, construction-grade glass, which is usually used for commercial windows in high-rise office buildings and hotels. The glass tiles are frost proof and acid resistant. They can be installed in any swimming pool, commercial or residential application, with the exception of those containing stone and metal, which should not be installed in areas fully submerged in water, such as fountains or pools. The 1- x1-inch tiles can be used in floor applications, but the glossy finish will be susceptible to scratching and could also be slippery in wet areas, according to the manufacturer.
