LARVIK, NORWAY - Italian-based sculptor Simona Bocchi recently completed the sculpture “We Are One” as part of her work in the international symposium. The material is Carrara White marble, with a base of Norwegian granite. The entire sculpture, including the base, measures 2 meters high.

“When I began working on the sculpture, ‘We Are One,’ I did not know what it could be in the end,” Bocchi said. “In fact, for me this sculpture has no end.” The sculptor went on to explain that the piece relies on fluidity, which comes in part from the stone itself. “The two figures are united with one wing,” she said. “The [movement] in the marble is present, and it is an important element in my sculpture.
