New Equipment: March 2009

Backsplash Polishing Workstation

The USA-made Backsplash Polishing Workstation by Omni Cubed is a fully adjustable and customizable workstation that increases polishing efficiency and reduces worker strain, the manufacturer reports. The Workstation utilizes Sink Hole Savers (SHS) to strengthen, protect and securely hold each backsplash piece at any desired height and polishing angle (0 to 90 degrees of adjustment). The two-sided stand enables multiple workers to simultaneously polish up to six 9-foot backsplashes, and the job gets done faster without the constant switching of pads between pieces, reports the manufacturer. Mounting additional Sink Hole Savers expands the capacity of the Workstation. The Workstation includes an aluminum stand with Velcro for pads, two grinder holders, two 5-foot SHS and two pairs of SHS mount brackets (enough to hold 4 SHS).

Value-line single sided aluminum rack for van

Demountable Concepts, Inc., a North American manufacturer and supplier of interchangeable truck body delivery systems, is now offering a value-line of aluminum stone and glass carriers for commercial vehicles through its myglasstruck.com brand.

Value-line carriers feature durable, lightweight aluminum construction and have many of the features and superior engineering found on the company’s high-quality stainless-steel racks.

Standard features of value-line carriers include a rigid frame of square aluminum tubing, 5-inch usable bottom ledges with double pole settings and neoprene base pads, fully padded removable front stops, extruded horizontal slats with integrated padding; and load bearing bottom supports that secure the rack to the vehicle and protect from damage at the jobsite. Glass holding poles come with standard black neoprene triangle cleats, which can be upgraded to high-quality “Supertrucks System 2” cleats.

Other options include standard to large-sized roof racks that extend to the front bumper on goal post supports, roof rack mounted cat walks, various styles of tie-downs, removable fender skirts to make servicing rear wheels easier, heavy-duty grill and bumper guards, interior glass racks, and interior and exterior fold down work tables.

Pedrini - an Italian leader in the production of machinery for processing natural stones - has introduced its multi-wire machine for cutting granite slabs, which also debuted at Marmomacc 2008 in Verona.

SPIDER GS200 is rich in patented technological innovations and belongs to a complete range designed to meet the requirements by all producers from this sector, according to Pedrini.

SPIDER GS200 is featured by high flexibility in the thickness change and performs the fast cutting of blocks through a series of diamond wires, using patented technologies that aid the guide and enable a high individual tensioning of the diamond wires without structural strains.

The sturdy open structure of SPIDER GS200 enables a very easy replacement of the wires and ensures top-level performance in the long term.

The diamond wire drive is obtained through a patented system composed of an extra-large diameter flywheel (2.6 m) and a series of belts equipped with grooves for the wire seating - the cutting thickness can be varied by simply moving the wires in the different grooves.

The extra-large diameter of the wire drive, which reduces the fatigue on the cable supporting the diamond elements and the easy replacement of the belts, can be easily shipped to every country without removing the flywheel - representing the major advantages of Pedrini systems, reports the manufacturer. The multi-wire machine is the alternative to traditional gangsaws, as it dramatically reduces installation costs, assembly times and production costs; further, it improves the cutting quality even on the most difficult materials, according to Pedrini.

Flexibility and accuracy are supported by “Made in Italy” technology, which is designed, developed and patented in the Pedrini labs.
