The sad truth about what must follow is also a horrible prospect. None of us knows how our lives will have been affected by the time this magazine reaches your hands. But one thing is undeniable: these horrific and unspeakable acts must galvanize everyone in the civilized world against the terrorists who not only carried out and planned these acts, but also against all who have supported and aided them. No single nation can win a war against global terrorism alone -- it needs to be a global effort, and it will be a long and difficult road ahead for everyone.
