New Equipment: New Generation Abaco Lifter
Abaco has recently introduced the New Generation Abaco Lifter. It incorporates all the best features in the older model and combines them into this more technologically advanced machine. It is designed to enhance the strengths featured in the old model and eliminate the elements that may cause the slab to break, crack, slip or snap.
The New Generation Abaco Lifter uses a flexible sling to allow the slab and lifter flexibility of movement. This feature enables the unit to move freely and smoothly with the force rather than against it. This minimizes the possibility of the slab breaking and snapping under various conditions.
The new Abaco Lifter is also more secure than the older model. The previous model incorporated the wedging principle, where the pressure force is concentrated into one particular area, the new model utilizes the camming principle. The set of four-wheel bearings is strategically placed inside the lifter to support the camming mechanism by dispersing the pressure evenly on the center and back plates. The variation of slab thickness poses no problem with the New Generation Abaco Lifter. The pressure force is distributed evenly by utilizing torque motion, and the probability of slab slipping, breaking, snapping or cracking is significantly reduced under any amounts of pressure.
The ideal position of the slab when lifted from its stationary point should be vertical to the ground. This factor is crucial to avoid any unnecessary damage to the slab when it is later transported. The new lifters achieve this ultimate goal more effectively than the previous model by lifting the slab in this precise vertical position. The center plate is adjusted to the thickness of the slab through the sling, which rotates the incline plate and pushes the center plate into position. Once the center plate comes into contact with the slab, the incline will stop and create pressure, providing greater support. There is also a safetylock, a special feature incorporated into the side of the lifter to secure the jaws into position. This feature is especially designed for transporting slabs using the forklift jib over rough terrains.
Being of compact construction, it allows for close packaged slabs to be lifted out of racks and containers. Lower height slabs placed along side of taller slabs offer no problem, as is the case with other clamping devices, in particular the scissor clamps.
The New Generation Abaco Lifter also offers other advantages, which includes the release button that automatically releases the lifter from the slab once the slab has been fully lowered to the ground. This makes the process of lifting and lowering of slabs a one-man operation.
The lifter requires a small amount of room to engage the inner face of slab. Only small movement of the slab is required, which is generally well below the overbalance angle thus eliminating the danger to the operator.
Its compact size allows for the slab to be stacked close together, thereby saving a lot of storage space. The outer face of the back plate, the full-side of connecting pins and the outer face of the cam plate are fully vulcanized by rubber to prevent scratching and damage to your finish pieces during the lifting and lowering operation.
