Fabricators head to Italy with the SFA to learn not only more about the products they buy and the machines they invest in, but also the culture of Italian workers
For the past eight years, the Stone Fabricator’s Alliance (SFA) takes a group of fabricators from North America, many of which have never traveled once outside the country, and brings them to Italy to learn about machinery, tooling and different types of stone.
Designed by SOM Architects of New York and built under the responsibility of Turner Construction Co., the structure features JMS Jura Beige limestone, which blends perfectly with the choice of glass and aluminum.
On August 2nd, Zoller, GranQuartz and ADI held a workshop at the Zoller Inc.’s brand new North American headquarters in Ann Arbor, MI, to demonstrate to fabricators different technology that is going to be coming to the stone industry, how to be at the forefront of it, and finally, how it can improve a fabricator’s business. "We want to give you the complete CNC experience," said Dan Davidenko, CEO of GranQuartz. "We want these guys to be more efficient with their CNC machines and their tooling, and they can do it with these Zoller machines and ADI tooling."

The international stone and tile show filled the expansive exhibition hall offering numerous displays of new stone and tile collections, innovations in product lines for stone and tile care, maintenance and installation, as well as fabrication machinery and tooling and accessories for stone fabrication.
