Coverings, the leading international tile and stone exhibition and conference in North America, has announced 16 Rock Star Award recipients ahead of the show’s return to the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL, from April 29 to May 2, 2025. 

The Ceramic Tile Education Foundation (CTEF) will have a strong presence at Coverings 2025, taking place April 29 through May 2, 2025, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL. The organization will be at Booth #3900 throughout the four-day exhibition to celebrate Certified Tile Installers and to help visitors better understand CTEF certification and education programs.  

Construction Resources Company, LLC has completed the acquisition of Opustone, L.L.C. from Mosaic Companies. Opustone is a stone slab and tile distributor with three showroom locations in South Florida (Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach), offering premium surfaces for luxury residential and commercial design projects. Opustone’s leadership and team will remain with Construction Resources following the acquisition.

The Tile Council of North America (TCNA) recently honored Tennessee Sixth Congressional District Representative John Rose as a “Friend of the U.S. Tile Industry.” A specially designed ceramic tile noting the designation was presented to Congressman Rose in his Washington office.

Louisville Tile, one of America’s largest and longest-tenured distributors of ceramic tile and related products, appointed Johnny D. Stafford as its new Architectural & Design (A&D) sales representative for the Lexington, KY, region. Stafford brings a diverse skillset, including business savvy, creative thinking, a customer-centric focus and significant leadership experience. A Lexington native, Stafford's career spans successful management roles in diverse industries, including motorsports, restaurant management and hardscape flooring retail. He holds a Business Administration degree from the University of Kentucky, providing a strong foundation for his professional achievements.

UCX announced that Paul Castagliuolo, president since 2016, will step down from his position, effective January 1, 2026. At that time, in addition to the CEO role, Ray Mancini will assume the role of president on an interim basis.

Virginia Tile, a division of Transom Capital Group-backed Artivo Surfaces, announced the sale of its woodworking products distribution business to Wilsonart Engineered Surfaces (“Wilsonart”). This strategic move aligns with Virginia Tile’s commitment to its core flooring and surface solutions business while ensuring continued growth and stability for the woodworking division’s employees and customers under Wilsonart’s leadership. The acquired operations are headquartered in Kansas City, KS, with branches in Tulsa, OK; Oklahoma City, OK; Wichita, KS; and Springfield, MO. The acquired locations distribute decorative surfaces, cabinet accessories, and decorative and functional hardware. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
