Updates on Proposed Legislation Regarding Silica Lawsuits

OBERLIN, OH – The Natural Stone Institute (NSI) will hold a webinar on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at 1 p.m. (ET) to discuss proposed legislation regarding silica lawsuits filed against manufacturers and sellers of stone slab products (natural stone, engineered stone, porcelain), which continue with no end in sight. A bill has been introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives which would prohibit lawsuits. This webinar is designed to provide sellers of stone slabs (quarriers, stone distributors and fabricators) to engage in a question/answer session with the bill’s author. It will also highlight that employee occupational safety requirements from OSHA and/or MSHA remain in effect. The NSI will provide a brief update about ongoing silica resources available for industry professionals.
