The Stone Fabricator’s Alliance (SFA) Italy Tour, which has been hitting the road since 2011, would not be possible without the support of Tenax. From arranging the visits with host companies to the logistics of getting the group to each stop on time to the accommodations throughout multiple cities, the company goes above and beyond to make the trip run smoothly.
“The SFA Tour is a key moment of connection between American fabricators and the Italian stone industry’s top players,” said Tatiana Savoia, a long-time employee of Tenax, who now works at Donatoni. “It’s a source of inspiration, a unique opportunity to share expertise and build relationships. I was involved in organizing the tour from its very first edition, for many years during my time at Tenax, and it was an exciting experience for me -- both professionally and personally. Now that I work at Donatoni, I’m happy to continue being part of this initiative, especially since Donatoni has been a regular stop on the tour for years and actively supports its success. It’s an experience that enriches the industry, fostering growth and innovation.”
There is always a feeling of excitement as the bus pulls up to Casa Tenax. Once inside, the fabricators are welcomed by Chief Executive Officer Alessandro Ferrari, Commercial Strategy Director Andrea Rossini and Brian Gambrell, Chief Executive Officer of Tenax North America, as well as other members of the Tenax team. “Every year, it is a tradition to host you,” Ferrari told the SFA group. “To have you in our home is a reason for us to be proud. It is our pleasure to host you here.”
Rossini explained to the group that Tenax is driven by its mission of excellence. “We invest in research and technology for new solutions,” he said. “Tenax Group is your one-stop shop for the supply chain. We are a unique company in our sector that can provide a solution from the quarry to the installation and maintenance of the project.”
The fabricators were given the opportunity to observe in the testing labs, learn about product development and walk through the production facility. Additionally, the Tenax team performed several product demonstrations.
“At the Tenax plant, I wanted everyone to see the new products that we are producing to help them with their fabricating and installing of the stone on their projects,” said John Thomas of Tenax USA, who joined the SFA group for the duration of the tour. “Also, I wanted everyone to see that Tenax is constantly trying to improve their glues and chemicals with the newest technology to better serve their fabrication and install needs. My favorite part of the trip was having discussions with each attendee and answering their questions about Tenax’s products.”
After touring Casa Tenax, the fabricators were treated to a delicious lunch in the picturesque setting of the nearby Sol de Montalto winery, where they were able to relax, network and enjoy the Italian cuisine and culture.
Founded in 1956, Tenax has expanded significantly through the decades. It now has a presence in more than 100 countries with six branches across four continents. The Italian-based company is
well-known internationally for producing high-quality mastics, epoxy systems, surface treatments and abrasives.
