DEERFIELD BEACH, FL -- Mapei Corporation proudly congratulates Kyle Kirkwood on his thrilling first-place finish at the 50th anniversary of the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach. Driving the No. 27 PreFab Honda for Andretti INDYCAR, Kirkwood delivered a dominant performance, leading the team to its 16th win on the iconic Southern California street circuit.
The victory marks Kirkwood’s third career INDYCAR win -- and his second at Long Beach, having also taken the top podium spot in 2023. With this latest achievement, Kirkwood and Andretti INDYCAR further solidify their reputation as leaders in the NTT INDYCAR Series.
“Hats off to the No. 27 PreFab Honda team today,” said Kirkland. “We had a really good qualifying, an awesome race and an amazing strategy. Execution all across the board is what won us the race – we controlled the race the whole time. We’re going to reflect on this one, soak in this win and go
straight into Barber, where hopefully, we can do this all over again. This is a good one. It’s been a long time. I had a drought last year of no wins, so this is huge for my morale, huge for the No. 27 crew and huge for Honda. Winning at the 50th Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach is just amazing.”
The No. 27 car, which proudly features Mapei’s logo, showcased not only racing excellence, but the strong partnership between Mapei and Andretti INDYCAR.
“Kyle’s win at Long Beach was incredible,” said Luigi Di Geso, president and CEO of Mapei North America. “It’s a historic race, and his ability to deliver such a strong commanding performance speaks volumes about his skill and the strength of the entire Andretti team. We’re proud to be part
of that success and honored to see the Mapei name on the No. 27 car as it crosses the finish line first.”
Kirkwood led the race with precision, topping the leaderboard for 46 laps and recording the fastest leader lap with a time of 1:08.475. It was a flawless race — remarkable not only for Kirkwood’s control from pole to podium but also for being the second straight INDYCAR event this season to run without a single yellow flag.
“We align ourselves with excellence, both on the jobsite and on the racetrack,” said Di Geso. “Kyle’s drive and focus reflect the values we bring to every product and every partnership. We look forward to cheering him on through the rest of the season.”
This win adds another milestone to Andretti INDYCAR’s impressive history, marking their 75th overall INDYCAR victory. The team now heads to Barber Motorsports Park for Round four of the NTT INDYCAR Series, taking place May 2 to 4, 2025.
As Kirkwood and the Andretti team continue their quest for championship glory, Mapei remains a proud partner, supporting high-performance racing with the same dedication to innovation and precision that defines its construction solutions.
