ATLANTA, GA -- Hanwha Surfaces recently announced that Michael Talbot has joined the company as product design manager. Talbot is an NCIDQ licensed interior designer and LEED Accredited Professional with a diverse background in commercial and residential interiors, as well as product design. Holding previous design positions at Beauflor, Restoration Hardware and Shaw Industries, he brings extensive knowledge of design and science of the built environment to his new role.

As product design manager for Hanwha Surfaces, Talbot will be responsible for market trend analysis and recommendations for new product design and development of colors and textures for the company’s portfolio of surfacing solutions, including HanStone Quartz and Hanex Solid Surfaces.

“The opportunity to be part of a driven and determined team that is dedicated to their craft is the reason I am here,” said Talbot. “Good design is all around us, but great design is much more elusive, and I’m excited to be working with a company that’s committed to being known for great design.”

Prior to joining Hanwha Surfaces, Talbot served as a senior product designer for Shaw Industries where he was involved with the launch of several new product collections, which earned Interior Design magazine’s Best of Year Award and the Nightingale Gold Award, respectively. He also held positions as an interior designer with Heery International, Commercial Design Interiors, and Gensler.

“We believe that quartz and solid surface design is just getting started and that there is so much design innovation waiting to happen.” said Mark Abbas, marketing director of Hanwha Surfaces. “Talbot’s unique blend of creative vision, industry expertise and interior design experience in both the residential and commercial markets adds a tremendous amount of value to our company during this period of growth and innovation. His passion for design and diverse perspective aligns well with our commitment to industry-leading products and growing market popularity. We’re very excited to have Michael join our team in this key role.”
