General Tool, a leader in the design and manufacturing of diamond tools, is introducing a new family of premium wet polishing pads for natural and engineered stone. The new pads were tested against two premium competitive pads on both white granite and black granite using a Makita PW5001C grinder turning at 3500 rpm. The stone was washed down with acetone to eliminate any false gloss readings. No change to the gloss readings were found to occur after the acetone wash. The working time was 40 seconds for each grit. The measurement was accomplished with a gloss meter. The following are the results after the final 3000 grit pad:
