Stone Source acquires Mission Stone and Tile

March 1, 2016

NEW YORK, NY -- Stone Source is pleased to announce the acquisition of the business of Mission Stone and Tile, a Nashville, Tennessee-based company that offers natural stone and porcelain tile, including Mission Originals, a collection of original, exclusive designs, to residential clients, the design community, builders and developers. The company has a 3,500-square-foot showroom and a 9,000-square-foot warehouse in Nashville, TN, as well as a 1,200-square-foot showroom in Chattanooga, TN.

Mission Stone and Tile Founder and CEO, Mary Elizabeth Oropeza, has assumed a new role within Stone Source as Director of Residential Design and Procurement nationally. Oropeza will be responsible for expanding the company's residential product portfolio with the development of original designs, product sourcing, and the integration of Mission Originals at all Stone Source operations nationwide.

"I am very pleased to announce our acquisition of the Mission Stone and Tile business," said Joe MacIsaac, President and CEO of Stone Source. "Not only do we expand our footprint and gain entry into the Nashville and Chattanooga markets, but we are pleased to have Mary Elizabeth Oropeza join us as a member of our design and procurement team, leading the expansion of our residential product portfolio nationwide. Mary Elizabeth has demonstrated success introducing her original product designs and we believe all 11 Stone Source showrooms and our customers will benefit from her instinctive eye for design and experience in identifying design trends in the residential products space. In addition to the two Mission Stone and Tile showrooms, we are very excited about the platform Mission has established for online sales through store.missionstonetile.com."

Max Lestz, Regional Manager for the Mid-Atlantic region, will expand his role to lead the Nashville team. Oropeza will remain in the Nashville office and will work with Lestz to ensure a successful transition.

The acquisition of the Mission Stone and Tile business is the second acquisition for Stone Source in the past year. Stone Source previously purchased the business of Alan Court & Associates in East Hampton, NY.
