Design Superstore Joins Elite Artisan Group

Design Superstore, formerly known as Discount Floors Superstore, has grown into the largest flooring and interior finishing business in Central Texas and the Brazos Valley, starting from a carpet store. Richbourg and his wife Sherri purchased Discount Carpet in Bryan, TX, and renamed it Discount Floors Superstore to reflect the growing list of products and services. The Richbourgs updated and transformed the downtown location, where it originally opened in 1977, into the beautiful modern showroom and design center it is today.
As Central Texas and the Brazos Valley have grown, so has Design Superstore. In 2003, the company expanded to Waco, TX, and then again in 2009, into Temple, TX. That same year, the company acquired a granite countertop company in Waco, TX, and soon added cabinets as well. Goldstone Granite was the first company in the area to implement a digital fabrication facility. This technology allows customers to see how their countertop will look before the stone is cut. With cutting edge software and precision equipment, Goldstone redefined the way countertops are made in Central Texas.
In 2012, the company moved the Waco, TX, store to its current location on Franklin Avenue. After completely renovating the 30,000 square-foot showroom, the company opened what is now the flagship superstore, bringing together Discount Floors, Goldstone Granite and Artisan Cabinets under one roof and new company name, Design Superstore.
