UGM appoints new regional vice president

December 1, 2007
Sunil Sikka

CHICAGO, IL - Universal Granite & Marble (UGM), one of the largest importers and wholesalers of natural stone in the U.S., has appointed Sunil Sikka to the position of regional vice president at its headquarters in Chicago. In his new position, Sikka will be responsible for business development, sales and operations in the region, reporting to Rakesh Malhotra, group chief operating officer of UGM.

Sikka will play a key role in developing short- and long-term strategic goals in order to meet corporate objective and implement UGM’s strategic plans. He will partner with the Chicago team to guide UGM sales and achieve growth objectives through various sales and marketing initiatives.

“UGM is constantly striving to set higher standards for customer service,” said Malhotra. “Sunil is a task-oriented leader with a clear focus on performance. His professional experience will construct an efficient operation while promoting UGM’s leadership position in the marketplace.”

Prior to joining UGM, Sikka gained 17 years of experience in sales, marketing and business development at organizations such as Mitsubishi Corp. and ITC Global Holdings. Sikka holds a degree in engineering with a major in mechanical engineering and a post-graduate diploma in international business.
