Machine of the Month

August 1, 2007

The Park Industries Titan CNC stoneworking center has been engineered as a “high-performance productivity breakthrough in CNC technology,” the company reports. Backed by more than 20 years of CNC experience, the Park Titan was designed for optimal precision as well as premium reliability, durability and support.
The Titan offers easy table accessibility with its integrated base architecture and large step-up aluminum worktable. The precision-machined aluminum worktable is 160 x 96 inches, and with just two easy steps, operators can safely and easily access the table for cup and slab positioning, Park reports.

The 20-hp, variable-speed spindle drive system runs from 0 to 10,000 rpm, while the optional 3-hp saw blade drive runs 3,450 rpm with 360-degree continuous rotation.
Additionally, users can quickly convert paper or Luan templates into accurate machine code right at the machine using the on-board laser digitizing system. The digitizing system operates using a point-and-click method for optimal simplicity.
Users can also retrieve, convert and program from standard electronic DXF files at the control unit with the TouchStone SFP (Shop Floor Programming) system. The TouchStone SFP system has been equipped with an easy-to-use, conversational, touch-screen program that allows operators to edit tool paths right at the machine.
Users of the Park Titan can also utilize the completely new StoneCAM® Synergy off-line software suite. The new StoneCAM Synergy software is a powerful machine programming and stone optimization system that allows operators to program faster, make changes easier and choose part layout based upon the movement in the stone with just a few clicks. Users can preview the installed work even before the pieces are cut. And the finished layout images can be sent to the customer for approval before the stone is cut.
