Indian granite producer establishes presence

August 1, 2007
Madhucon Granite Ltd. has a gangsaw facility in Bangalore, India, that sits on 25 acres of land and houses two gangsaws -- one from Breton S.p.A. and another from Barsanti, as well as two line polishers from Breton of Italy -- one with 21 heads and another with 13 heads. The shop also houses a water treatment plant from Fraccaroli & Balzan and a resin polishing line from S.E.I.

Established in 1988 as a full E.O.U. (Export Oriented Unit), Madhucon Granite Ltd. of India produces a number of granite materials using state-of-the-art equipment throughout its several facilities. Over the past 19 years, the company has created a unique niche in India as well as overseas, and today it enjoys excellent credentials and expanding clientele across the globe. According to the company, Madhucon is poised to “emerge as a strong force in the international granite market.”
The company’s facilities are equipped with high-end technology from renowned Italian manufacturers, and investments were made to increase production and to maintain international standards, according to Madhucon.

Madhucon’s monument division, established in 1998, is located in the granite-rich region of the Khammam District of Andhra Pradesh, India. With a state-of-the-art facility for processing granite, the 8-acre plant includes a Dia-Tech profile machine from Austria and a Spielvogel block saw from Germany. The shop also houses a GB 615 and a GB 110 polishing machine as well as a GB 110 milling machine, all from Thibaut of France.
According to the company, this division exclusively produces monuments to meet the demands of Japan, the U.K., Germany, France, Italy, Belgium, Holland and the Middle East, as well as Australian monumental markets.
Situated near Khammam Town in Andhra Pradesh is the company’s cut-to-size facility, which began commercial production in 1998. Known as Varalakshmi Granites (Private) Ltd., the operation was established to process granite slabs and tiles in order to meet the domestic market’s demands, mainly fabricating kitchen countertops. The factory is equipped with fully automated imported machines, including four vertical block saws, one automatic polishing machine, four BGM manual polishers, a wire saw, an edge cutting machine and a milling and side polishing machine.
Through extensive research, the company discovered numerous unique granite deposits in several states of southern India. Materials include: Black Galaxy, Absolute Black, Flash Blue, Indian Gold, Vizag Blue, Lady Dream, Rose Wood, Siva Gold, Siva Ivory, Madhucon Gold, Imperial Gold, River Gold, Black Pearl, Indian Blue Pearl, Indian Gold, Giblee Bold and Kashmir White.
The company also processes imported granite from around the world, including Norway, the Middle East, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Brazil, among others.
Aside from basic countertops and tabletops, the company’s production includes rough dimensional blocks, cut-to-size structural building slabs and monuments and memorials in polished, flamed or brushed finishes. Random and cut-to-size structural slabs in 2-cm and 3-cm-thick slabs are mainly exported to the U.S., Europe and Australia.
Madhucon has marketing offices in Delhi and Hyderabad, and the research team continually surveys the trends and requirements of the world markets to identify possibilities for the company’s products. The result of this constant alertness has led the company to open its own warehouses in Columbus, OH, Melbourne, Australia, and Sharjah, U.A.E.
In order to make its presence felt in the global market and strengthen bonds with customers, Madhucon promotes its products by participation in various stone exhibitions in India, as well as in countries such as Italy, Germany, China and the U.S.
Today, the company prides itself on a solid reputation for fabricating quality products, excellent craftsmanship and customer satisfaction.
