SoundGard Sound Reduction Mat Underlayment, a product that reduces impact sound and delivers exceptional levels of acoustical control and privacy for interior spaces is now available from Custom Building Products.
The high-performance matting can be installed under most types of flooring, including stone, marble, ceramic tile, brick, pavers, hardwood, engineered wood, laminate, parquet, vinyl and carpet, the company reports. SoundGard's resilient mat sheet, made from 100% recycled rubber, is available in 6-mm rolls, 4 feet wide and 30 feet long. It is a single-ply, direct bond system.
Custom Building Products reports that when independently tested in a laboratory according to ASTM E492 and E989, 6-mm SoundGard delivers an Impact Insulation Class rating of at least 52, without a suspended ceiling. When installed according to Custom's specifications, SoundGard is guaranteed by the company's limited warranty.
