Cascapedia marble -- a burgundy limestone breccia with reddish fragments from the Formation of Bonaventure -- is now available through Polycor. Each polished sample of this material exhibits exciting textures and vibrant veining, according to the company.

“We are expecting a lot of great things from this material,” said Jean-Nil Bouchard, of Polycor. “The reaction at the Verona Stone Show was incredible. Many visitors from North America wanted to buy it because it is a 'rare gem' color-wise -- a trendsetter because of its daring and complex composition. This is a very unique material.”

The stone is available in dimensional panels, slabs and tiles. It is ideal for both residential and commercial interior applications.

A Fiberglas backing enhances the strength of Cascapedia. “After the backing is applied, it is a very strong material,” said Bouchard.
