An Adhesive Engineered for Interior and Exterior Surface Fabrication

NEWCASTLE, UPON TYNE, UK -- Integra Adhesives recently announced the European launch of Horizon™, a high-performance 10:1 two-part methacrylate adhesive engineered to handle both demanding interior and exterior surface fabrication. Unlike conventional adhesives that force fabricators to stock separate products for indoor and outdoor jobs, Horizon is a single solution backed by rigorous testing protocols.
As outdoor living spaces grow in popularity across Europe, fabricators have struggled with managing multiple adhesive inventories. Surface materials like quartz, porcelain and sintered stone perform well in both environments, but fabricators have been forced to maintain separate indoor and outdoor product lines.
“Fabricators told us they wanted to simplify their operations without compromising performance,” said Scott McDowell, president IPS Adhesives. “Horizon eliminates the indoor-outdoor decision entirely. And fabricators already know the Horizon color range. They're the same proven colors from our Zero and Ultra lines, now in one versatile formula.”
QUV accelerated weathering testing shows Horizon maintains a ΔE (color change) below 1.50 --well under the ΔE 2.5 visibility threshold. Typical systems often register ΔE values of 4.5 or higher.
Following ASTM D1183-03 protocols, Horizon retains near-original bond strength after full environmental cycling, while many adhesives lose over 50% of their strength.
Horizon delivers practical features fabricators demand:
- 9- to 14-minute working time
- Non-sag formula for vertical applications
- Proven performance on quartz, porcelain, ceramic, sintered stone and natural stone
- Temperature resilience from -40°C to 70°C
- GreenGuard Gold certification with low VOC formulation
Horizon features the same trusted color palette fabricators know from Integra's Zero product. Instead of stocking separate colors for indoor and outdoor projects across multiple product lines, fabricators can maintain a single Horizon inventory with seamless color matching for today’s most popular surfaces -- indoors or outdoors.
Integra Adhesives encourages fabricators to ask suppliers three critical questions when evaluating adhesives:
- What is the ΔE after UV exposure testing?
- How does bond strength change after ASTM D1183-03 cycling?
- What testing methodology backs up your outdoor performance claims?
“These three questions quickly separate adhesives designed for true indoor-outdoor fabrication from those simply marketed for it,” said Rachel Trumbo, technical manager at IPS Adhesives.
Horizon is available in 250ml cartridges through Integra Adhesives' network of distributors across Europe.
