The Story of Stone: From Quarry to Production
Founded in 1821 by Jean Baptiste Alexandre Henraux, the Henraux company has become renowned for the beautiful marble material it produces from its Monte Altissimo quarry. The company has played a critical role in developing and exporting Italian marble, especially Statuario, Calacatta, and Arabescato, and is known for its high standards in quarrying, processing, and artistic stonework.
Every year, the Stone Fabricator’s Alliance (SFA) makes a point to visit Henraux’s quarry and production facility on its Tour of Italy. Fabricators are always in awe of the majestic setting of the quarrying site, as well as the advanced technology implemented to cut the stone.
“What an incredible opportunity it was,” said Wes Hull of ABC Stone in Hamilton, MT. “Going into the quarry -- going inside the mountain -- and seeing how the materials are pulled out.”
