F. Barkow Inc., exclusive manufacturer of aluminum or stainless steel stone racks for vans and pickup trucks, has the solution for transporting countertops, islands or backsplashes. Barkow stone carriers are mounted approximately 18 inches from the ground, which makes it easier to load and unload stone. This increases productivity and reduces breakage, as well as employee injuries. Barkow interior and exterior stone carriers are fully welded and custom-built by craftsmen to safely transport stone. They are equipped with Stake-Loc® self-locking stakes, featuring patented Barkleats™ and Barpads® for added safety and protection.

The Heavy-Duty Bundle Rack from Groves, Inc. is designed for regular up to jumbo-size stone bundles and available in 60-inch sections, as well as newly added 90-inch sections. It has a 9,000-pound capacity per opening (4,500-pound per post) and is built using a heavy-duty steel finish with a durable, long-lasting, powder coating. The 4,000-pound capacity Heavy-Duty Transport Racks, which are available from Groves, Inc., were designed for fabrication and transportation of products to the jobsite. They are built with riveted on rubber to keep materials safe and come complete with hold-down bars to help keep your materials in place while in transit. Move this item via fork lift using the fork lift hoops found on all sides of this product. An optional caster kit is available, which comes with quick release mounting pins so you can easily change this rack from mobile to stationary in seconds.

The new Sink Hole Saver Auto by Omni Cubed is a surface-mounted, vacuum-pump powered reinforcement system that strengthens fragile materials during lifting, transportation and installation. This product features proprietary, non-marking, vacuum cups with triple sealing rings for a strong, reliable hold — even on textured and leathered surfaces. The Sink Hole Saver Auto has a stronger vacuum pump with greater airflow rate than previous models. The pump runs on an all-new 12v li-ion rechargeable power pack that lasts up to five hours on a single charge, and has an LCD display showing the remaining power level. Quick-release valves make product removal fast and easy, and new knurled lock-knobs allow quick repositioning of cups around cutouts. The Sink Hole Saver Auto is available in three lengths, with two optional accessories (angle bracket and vertical lifting handle kit), to provide a protection solution for any situation.

The Rock Jockey from Stone Pro, which is now available from both Braxton-Bragg and Regent Stone Products, was designed to make moving slabs a one-man operation while safely keeping personnel out of the slab’s shadow. Using a standard Abaco or Ardwolf 50 or 75 lifter, the Rock Jockey allows the forklift operator to remotely turn the slab 360 degrees, as well as engage and release the slab by triggering the red release mechanism. The built-in clutch prevents cross winds from turning the slab in unwanted directions, allowing the operator to maintain control at all times. The Rock Jockey’s industrial-grade construction is weatherproof, utilizes a high-capacity lithium ion military grade rechargeable battery and is made in the USA. This product also reduces the opportunity for injury or death caused by the current method, which places a man in the fall zone and can place a man between a stationary object and a moving lift truck.

The Saw Trax Panel Express self-adjusting panel cart, from Regent Stone Products, Inc., is perfect for sheets of wood, plastic, glass, granite and sheet rock. The product has a handle for movement when empty, a brace lock for loading multiple sheets and non-marring 5-inch locking casters, as well as a 700-pound weight capacity and a 3-inch opening in brace.

  Additional features and benefits include:

  • Easy one-man loading and unloading
  • Take along to jobsite for installs
  • Easy storage, small foot print and low profile
  • Self-adjusting brace mechanism automatically adjust to hold any width sheet up to 3 inches
  • Reduces lifting injuries and shop accidents
  • All steel construction
  • Breezes over air hoses and electrical conduit with 12¼-inch pnuematic tires

The Weha Hippo Bundle Rack offers one of the strongest and largest weight capacity granite and stone bundle racks produced. The set comes with two 10-foot bases (7 3/4 inches wide x 6 inches high) and 16 posts with white rubber caps. The Weha Hippo Heavy Duty Bundle Rack is rated to support the heaviest bundles of stone out there. It is made from heavy-duty galvanized steel for long life.

The PT10FS10AIR vacuum lifter from Wood’s Powr-Grip has established itself around the world as the main workhorse for handling stone slabs in fabrication shops. This lifter features powered tilting, 10 specially designed vacuum pads and an impressive 1,500-pound (680 kg) capacity. The specialized vacuum pads attach quickly to unleveled surfaces, handling both unfinished and finished slabs. Individual pad shutoffs allow the lifter to attach to oddly shaped slabs, while a high-flow vacuum system provides a quick release, increasing the efficiency of your workday. The PT10 continues to be a valuable tool to stone workers, reducing both material breakage and manpower needs, all while increasing safety.
