Laser Products announces strategic workforce changes

November 16, 2016

ROMEOVILLE, IL -- Laser Products Industries (LPI) has announced that it has made two workforce changes that are intended to continue the company’s rapid growth and to better position it to realize future strategic initiatives.

Rich Katzmann has been promoted to president, continuing to report to Dan Louis, owner and CEO. Since joining Laser Products almost one year ago as the VP of sales and marketing, Katzmann has lead the company into record growth, expanded its sales force and entered new markets including the recently announced partnership with Slabsmith. Trained as a nuclear engineer, Katzmann changed careers to co-own and manage several highly successful start-up companies.

Laser Product also announced the hiring of Brian Hall, as a software developer, reporting to Erik Louis, VP of engineering. Hall most recently worked at Coilcraft Inc. and brings 14 years of software development experience to his new position. He graduated with Honors from DeVry Institute of Technology, with degrees in computer information systems and applied science in electronic technology.

“The recent growth of Laser Products has been very exciting to see,” said Louis. “The skill, energy and excitement that Rich has brought to LPI has been astonishing. Because of his efforts, we now have a solid strategic plan that will include new products, new markets and new ventures that will be introduced over the next few years. Hiring Brian to be a key member of our product engineering group is an important step towards the realization of some of those goals.”
