Now in its second day, there is a buzz in the halls at Cevisama in Valencia, Spain. The seemingly endless displays of tile are attracting a large number of visitors. It appears traffic has even picked up from the opening day, and exhibitor presence is up 5 percent over last year, reports Tile of Spain.

Rak Ceramics of the United Arab Emirates is drawing attention with its novelty tile collections such as Zebra, which features a zebra pattern in black and white or brown and beige on the surface of the tile. The tiles are available in 12 x 24 and 24 x 24 inches.

When touring the halls it is evident that texture and dimension are important in tile design today. Spanish manufacturer Cifre offers wall tile with pillowed edges. A textured finish gives the tile a softness and when applied to a wall it resembles wallpaper.

Tile of Spain-branded manufacturer Saloni has collaborated once again with Spanish designer Roberto Verino on the Contempora Collection -- one of eight new collections being introduced by the company at this year's exhibition. The wall tiles in this collection are ideal for creating traditional designs with striped and floral patterns.
