Bonsal now offers solid marble shelves to accent its PreFormed Niches. The new marble shelf pieces make it easier and faster for contractors to tile the niches on the job. The company has been successful in selling its recessed shower niches, and the new inserts will give even more shelf space than when installers tile flush with the niches, according to Kevin McFadden, director of marketing for the company's tile products. “You don't have to tile the bottom portion, just set the shelf in and tile around it,†he stated.
The niches themselves contain no wood or cellulose fibers, and are constructed of waterproof, lightweight, high-density material with fiberglass mesh reinforcements. The inserts will be sold separately as accessories to the niches and will fit in PF301, PF302 and PF304 (12-inch width size niches). The shelves are also available in white and beige.
